Order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the Ministry of Health and the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine, dated 28.11.2012 № 1095/955/119 identified cases of mandatory referral of the body of the deceased to the morgue.
The corpses of people must be sent to the morgue for forensic examination:
• with signs of violent death (falling from a height, action of sharp objects, firearms, etc.), asphyxia, extreme temperatures, electric current, low and high atmospheric pressure, poisoning, etc.) or suspicion of such;
• whose deaths occurred outside their place of residence;
• whose identity has not been established;
• under the age of 60, who died at the place of residence, in the absence of dispensary supervision of the patient.
Corpses of people are not sent for forensic examination in the following cases:
• who died at their place of residence, in the presence of dispensary observation of the patient, in the absence of signs of violent death or suspicion of such;
• identification of the corpses of people over the age of 60 who have died at their place of residence, in the absence of signs of or suspicion of violent death.
